Principal Electronic Engineer
Responsibilities:
* Provide technical leadership & mentoring of data driven, gated product development process.
* Provide technical leadership in new product design, modification of existing products, production technique improvement & test procedure development.
* Take action to move projects from inception to fruition.
* Review and/or prepare engineering qualification tests procedures & associated data sheets.
* Ensure completeness of all documentation & on-floor production training to assure smooth transition from product design & testing into manufacturing.
* Oversee manufacturing engineering function related to manufacturing cost reduction or quality improvement.
* Advise management of new developments which may affect profit, schedule, costs, customer relations, and/or inter-departmental relations.
* Active hands-on involvement in meeting team milestones/deliverables.
* Ensure consistency in design reviews, verification & qualification efforts.
* Accountable for technical completeness of team’s design output.
Qualifications: BS EE or equivalent; MS EE preferred. 10 years experience in electronic systems development. Experience in the following areas:
- Proficiency in use of Schematic capture and board layout and SPICE modeling.
- Previous use of Altium (Protel) schematic capture and board layout preferred.
- Design of analog and/or RF electronic systems, including system engineering, analog, DC-DC converter and 900MHz/2.4GHz circuit design.
- Interfacing with outside vendors, consultants, & driving external design resources.
- High volume design & manufacturing (>50,000 units) using overseas production facilitiesThis position can be located in Powercast’s Pittsburgh, PA or San Diego, CA offices.
